The format dialog box allows you to format the characters and display format in any object that contains text. See below for details on how to

To open the Format Dialog Box, select the object that contains the text you want to format in the sections panel, press the right mouse button and select Format. |

Specifying the font |

To specify the font for your chosen object, open the Format Dialog Box, select the font you want to use, select the text effects you want to use and press OK. |

Defining the default object font |

To specify the default font that will be used when you add field to your report, open the Format Dialog Box, select the font you want to use, select the text effects you want to use, check the Use as default font and press Cancel (pressing cancel will prevent this font being applied to the chosen object). |

Defining the default label font |

To specify the default label font that will be used when you add label to your report, open the Format Dialog Box, select the font you want to use, select the text effects you want to use, check the Use as default font and press Cancel (pressing cancel will prevent this font being applied to the chosen object). |

Select the Output Format tab, then select the appropriate format type. The format types are as follows:
General (no specific formatting)

You can define the default display format for a particular field type. For instance, you could specify that numeric fields with decimal values are displayed as a currency, or date fields are always displayed in long format.
To define the default display format for a particular field type, open the format dialog box, select the required data format, and check the Use as default format for this type checkbox.
