Server Administration

To allow content to be shared across multiple devices, DataPA OpenAnalytics provides provides the DataPA Enterprise components to allow content to be stored, shared to and from and refreshed on a central server.

To provide secure and efficient connectivity to operational databases, DataPA OpenAnalytics rarely connects directly to databases. This means the Administrator must set up a process on a database server, that will provide access to the data sources.

There are two basic server-side configurations DataPA OpenAnalytics supports depending on the type of data source you wish to connect to and the type of business logic you wish to use for complex reporting solutions.

DataPA OpenAnalytics supports Progress OpenEdge AppServer connections to provide access to data sources through the Progress OpenEdge AppServer. For details on configuring these types of server-side configurations, see Progress Server Administration.

DataPA OpenAnalytics supports Microsoft ADO connections on a remote server to provide access to a host of SQL based data sources, including Oracle and Microsoft SQL. For details on configuring these types of server-side configurations, see SQL Connection Administration
