The Dashboard Object Definition window Export tab allows you to specify that an object should be exported to a particular format, and emailed or copied to a specific directory when the query the dashboard is built from is refreshed by the DataPA Enterprise service.
You can specify that your dashboard object is exported and emailed, or simply exported and saved to a particular location accessible from the server;
If you wish your dashboard object to be exported and emailed, follow these steps; |
First, select the option "Send a copy of this object by email when the dashboard is refreshed by the server" at the top of the screen. |
Enter the email recipients, subject and body. |
Select the type of document you wish to export the dashboard object as. Depending on the type of object you are exporting, you can export the document as an image, pdf document, excel document, comer delimited file (csv) or rich text file (rtf). |
The document will only be exported and emailed when the query the dashboard is built from is refreshed by the DataPA Enterprise service. As such, you may wish to click on the Manage Schedule button to open the Manage Schedule tab of the Dashboard Properties dialog which will allow you to verify and modify when the query is refreshed by the server.
The object will only be emailed successfully if the DataPA Enterprise server is configured for a valid smtp server. If you have permission to administer the DataPA Enterprise server, you can click on the Server Settings button to open the email settings tab of the server settings dialog to ensure the DataPA Enterprise server is configured for a valid smtp server.
